Two Sisters - Why and Because Islands
24 x 48 $1800
I loved the look of these two small islands and when I found out they where called the Two Sisters, and also Why and Because Islands, I fell completely in love with this project.
12 x 12 $250
I loved the range o foliage colour the larches (tamaracks) brought to the landscape.
12 x 12 $250
I love Cirrus clouds, with their wispy and delicate nature, though they are difficult to to paint because of their translucent nature. The setting sun gives them another dimension.
24 x 24 $865
Billowing clouds created a ridiculous amount of drama with the setting sun - purples and pinks against a clean washed sky, with golden light on the horizon. Not a serene end to the day - more of a 'are you ready to PARTY' vibe
24 x 24 $865
I've painted this point several times, but this view, with the cliffs in shadow, and the foreground colours brightly lit, really captures its beauty.
30 x 40 $1500
I loved how the landscape looked soft and damp and bursting with the promise of a future that is more beautiful for having weathered the storm
30 x 40 $1500
Deep, blue water and fresh breezes create the perfect setting for this island.
12 x 12 $250
A clear sky might have a gorgeous orange tone at sunset, but to be seriously show-stopping, I think you need some clouds
12 x 12 $250
I love those moments before sunset, when it feels like nature lets out a long sigh - the breeze dies down, the birds still, a lovely quiet settles over the landscape as we watch the sun cast its last caress across the sky.
18 x 24 $650
The bedrock is so close to the surface around here that usually you find a single tree that has managed to find a crevasse in which to root. But this pine found a rich pocket of earth and is diligently raising her own tiny forest of "Mini Me's". It makes me think of a mother hen herding her chicks
18 x 24 $650
It's the height of summer, and the landscape is every shade of green! I'm dreaming of these days!
12 x 12 $250
When a beautiful island pairs with a dramatic sky, it's pure magic. Mother Nature at her best.
36 x 36 $1950
At the end of the day, this cliff glowed with an inviting warmth. At times, a different light makes the rock face appear foreboding; on other days it exudes strength and steadfastness, but on this day it was like a gentle hug.
16 x 16 $410
It's almost worth the storm just to get the beautiful sunset! I can feel Nature's sigh of relief - cooler air, washed clean of smoke and dust, with the promise of a good night
12 x 12 $250
It's not MY homestead, but it's a lovely old farm that looks like it has lots of history ?? I loved how the grey barn was nestled at the foot of the orange hill.
12 x 12 $250
A clear sky might have a gorgeous orange tone at sunset, but to be seriously show-stopping, I think you need some clouds!
12 x 12 $250
As the sun sinks below the horizon, the final rays of light kiss the lower edges of the inky dark clouds with oranges, pinks and golds.
36 x 24. $1300
I've lost count of the number of times I've painted these trees and rocks - something about them keeps drawing me back. I think it's something about the textures. And, of course, I can never resist trees thriving on rock ??

30 x 40 $1800
Ienjoyed painting this bright, warm summer scene during this very cold, rather colourless few weeks of winter ?? The bright colours made me think of jewels in a setting - hence the play on Jewel of the Nile.
12 x 12 $250
It will only be a few moments before the sun sets - will it be a fiery display, or a gentle fade to darkness?
16 x 16 $410
Another late day painting. I love how the light just caresses the treetops, but sets the far shore ablaze! And the deep shadows are so dramatic.!
24 x 48 $1800
It's the Golden Hour again - that magical half hour before the sun sets, where the air itself seems to be infused with gold and red! This is such a great time of day to take reference photos - the light doesn't bleach out the highlights, the lower angle of the sun creates beautiful modelling of the shapes. And it's my favourite time to kayak - the evening breeze tempers the heat from the sun and keeps the bugs at bay ??
24 x 48 $1800
I think this catches the late summer vibe - warm sun, cool breeze, the scent of drying leaves.
18 x 36 $975
After the blazing colours that everyone associates with Algonquin Park, comes my favourite time. The maples and birches are done, but the Tamaracks paint the landscape in rich gold, highlighted by the background of deep greens and pewter branches. This scene from Brewers Lake, at the pull over on Highway 60, is a jewel lit up by the late morning sun.
18 x 36 $975
Black Spruce say Algonquin to me. Here they are in a stand with a couple of fine Pine specimens, surrounded by calm marsh waters dotted with lily pads. If I listen carefully, I can almost hear the Bull Frogs
15 x 30 $700
Sunrise over the island at Lake of Two Rivers, Algonquin Park. Pale yellows and blues are a signature of a sunrise sky - here they are paired with the parting clouds of an overnight storm.
15 x 30 $700
ne of the great joys of camping - an early sunrise, crisp clean air and a chorus of birds welcoming the new day. There's no better way to start a day!
